Parnate tablet 10mg

This medication is typically used for depression. It may also be used for panic with or without agoraphobia (an unexplained fear of open spaces), as well as for other uses. When used as a treatment for a mood disorder, this medication produces its full effect only after a few weeks.

Instructions

This medication is typically used only once a day. However, your pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Take it regularly and continuously to maintain its beneficial effects.

This medication may be taken with or without food. A severe reaction may occur if this medication is taken with certain foods, such as: fermented cheese, cold cuts, beer, shrimp, organ meats and red wine. Avoid these foods during your treatment.

Side Effects

In addition to its desired action, this medication may cause some side effects, notably:

  • it may cause dryness of the mouth;
  • it may cause dizziness - use caution when getting up from a lying or sitting position and use caution if driving;
  • it may cause diarrhea or constipation, depending on the person;
  • it may cause sleep disturbances or insomnia.

Each person may react differently to a treatment. If you think this medication may be causing side effects (including those described here, or others), talk to your health care professional. He or she can help you to determine whether or not the medication is the source of the problem.

Storage

As with most medications, this product should be stored at room temperature. Store it in a secure location where it will not be exposed to excessive heat, moisture or direct sunlight. Make sure that any leftover portion is disposed of safely.

This medication may interact with other medications or supplements, sometimes significantly. Many interactions, however, may be dealt with by a dosage adjustment or a change in medication schedule. Rarely, this product causes potentially severe reactions, mostly if taken at high doses or with some other drugs. If you experience agitation, confusion, diarrhea, fever, tremor and muscular rigidity or contractions, you should contact your doctor.
