Longueuil, May 19, 2011 – The Jean Coutu Group (PJC) Inc. now offers from its iPhone application the possibility of having photos printed through a smart telephone. Designed for the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad platforms, the new Jean Coutu Photo Boutique function allows the user to access an entirely new world of photography options in a few easy steps, a first in Canada in the pharmaceutical field! The user has the possibility of taking photos with his integrated picture camera, add photos from his albums, modify the photos (re‐center, zoom, add text or a date), select, share or print formats, share photos by e‐mail, post photos on Facebook or Twitter, or have photos printed and then picked up at the Jean Coutu pharmacy of his choice.
"We are very proud to add this new function to our Jean Coutu application. In cooperation with Tactio Software, we have created a state‐of‐the‐art iPhone application that allows our customers to print their photos more easily. More and more people use a smart phone so it had become important to position ourselves at the technological forefront and so remain a leader in our sector," declared Alain Lafortune, Senior Vice‐president Purchasing and Marketing at the Jean Coutu Group.
The Jean Coutu application also allows to consult Info‐Med, a new information service focusing on a wide range of medications, to synchronize and update the list of Jean Coutu stores, refill prescriptions, pinpoint the five pharmacies the nearest where one lives, select a favourite Jean Coutu pharmacy, view the stores on a map, obtain directions to reach a pharmacy either by car, on foot or using public transit, play the Jean Coutu jingle by touching the PJC logo on the greeting page and lastly to register one’s Jean Coutu gift card and AIR MILES® collector’s numbers for convenience purposes.
