Your face
A good base
The first step in proper makeup application starts with a solid base. So, apply the primer of your choice to your entire. Choose the right foundation and concealer to match your complexion and meet your needs: colour, coverage, texture, etc.
Pro tip: set your foundation with a translucent powder and do a little contouring
Blush
After you’ve applied your foundation and done your contouring (if necessary), apply some vibrant blush to your cheekbones. Choose a shade like peach, coral or red.
If you’re using a liquid or cream blush, use a makeup sponge or brush as your applicator. If you’re using a powder blush, a brush works best. Blend the blush into your skin by following the natural contours of your face.
Your eyes
Eye shadow
For glamorous, festive eyes, choose a glittery version of a shadow that matches your natural skin tone and apply it to your entire upper eyelid.
Eyeliner
To really make your eyes pop, choose your favourite black eyeliner and draw a thin line along your top lash lines. Make the lines slightly longer than your eyes to create that doe-eye look.
To achieve perfect lines every time, work from the outsides in, without pulling your eyelids (which could distort the shape of your eyes and therefore your lines). Draw a thin guideline and then once you're satisfied, simply thicken it.
Pro :if you find the doe eye hard to create, you can always use tape specifically designed to help with tougher makeup jobs.
Lashes
Complete your eye makeup by applying a coat of black mascara to your lashes and false lashes starting from the middle of your eyes, working outwards. If false lashes aren’t your thing, you can get the same effect by applying your mascara with added emphasis on the outer corners.
Your lips
Great lips are easy! Choose a lipstick with a cooler shade. And whether you want something neutral or more intense, the choice of colour is all up to you!
