You've read a lot about the importance of caring for the contours of your eyes, but your lips are just as delicate and they, too, need special care. Do you dream of full, luscious lips? Make sure you have exfoliants and moisturizing balms next to your lipstick and gloss.
PROPER CARE
Exfoliants. Exfoliation is just as important for your lips as it is for your face and body. By eliminating dead skin, your lips will look smoother and fuller. Use an exfoliant created specifically for your lips. Apply a small amount to clean, dry lips and massage it in gently before applying a nourishing product.
Moisturizers. The secret to soft, supple lips? Daily moisturizing. Make sure you have a lip balm with you at all times and use it every time you feel the need. If you want a little colour, choose a tinted lip balm or a moisturizing lipstick.
MAKEUP
Long-lasting base. For long-lasting makeup, apply a base makeup to your lips first, using your fingertips. It will not only help your lipstick colour stick, it will also soften your lips without leaving a greasy film. It's a must!
Lip liner. Does your lipstick have a nasty habit of smearing into the wrinkles around your lips? Trace a line around your lips using a non-smear lip liner! Here's a helpful tip: use a transparent liner that goes perfectly with any colour. It's an ideal solution for minimalist makeup kits!
Lipstick. We ask a lot of our lipstick! First, there are the pigments: rich, intense and varied, because we love changing colour as the mood strikes us. We also want it to be long lasting: it's got to last all day and night. Moisturizers are great, too, thanks to their ingredients, like vitamin E or vegetable oils... they're all essential allies in our quest for beauty!
When it comes to texture, we have a choice. Richer formulas, like satin lipsticks, leave your lips well nourished and silky smooth. The drawback: they fade quickly and have to be reapplied often. Matte lipsticks are made to last, but to ensure they don't dry out your lips, make sure to use a moisturizer a few minutes afterwards, sponging up the excess to ensure longer hold.
Apply your lipstick like a pro using a lip brush. This precision tool is particularly handy if you're using matte or dark lipsticks, which accentuate irregularities, but it's perfect for any type of texture. You can even use it to apply a touch of gloss to the centre of your lips for a radiant smile!
Lip gloss. Tubes, jars, sticks, crayons, transparent or tinted: lip glosses come in every shape and style. Wear them alone for a discreetly luminous smile, or wear them over a colour to enhance its saturation and radiance.
