Want to relax? Treat yourself to a spa session at home, all by yourself or with friends. Bathe in essential oils, try a mask or a scrub... Here's an easy 4-step cocooning routine to soothe your body without complicating your life.
But first, here’s what you’ll need for your home-spa treatment…
Before you begin your home-spa session, make sure you have the following items on hand (and if your friends are joining you, ask them to bring these items as well):
- UA bathrobe, or other comfy clothing you don’t mind getting wet or stained.
- The ideal skincare products. Remember: not everyone has the same tastes or skin type, so everyone should have their own cleanser, mask, serum and moisturizer.
- Everything you’ll need for the bath: bubble bath, Epsom salts, essential oils, perfumed candles... Choose active ingredients and accessories that are soothing, to help you make the most of this precious moment.
Don't forget to turn off your phone
Before you start your home-spa session, make sure you turn off your electronic devices. After all, a screen break is another way to soothe your soul!
Now that you've got everything ready, here are 4 steps to make your spa session a complete success.
1
Create a relaxing atmosphere.
First, make sure you have some time to yourself. You don’t want anything stressful interfering with your relaxation!
- If your bathroom has windows, close the curtains or blinds.
- Light a couple scented candles, or add a few drops of your favourite essential oil to your diffuser.
- Cue up your favourite relaxation playlist.
- If you have a heated towel rack, turn it on and put your bath robe on it to keep it warm and soft.
2
Draw your bath
Ready for your home-spa session? It's time to get the bathtub ready! Fill it with hot water (but not too hot!) and add some bubble bath, Epsom salts or your favourite essential oils. Here are three perfect blends of essential oils to promote relaxation:
- Bergamot, patchouli and ylang-ylang
- Lavender, chamomile and vetiver
- Vetiver and cedar.
Eucalyptus and citrus essential oils, like clementine and grapefruit, also help reduce stress and release tension. If you have muscle pain, mint can provide some relief.
Good to know!
Essential oils are highly concentrated, so you only need a small amount to achieve positive results. Never used an essential oil before? Test it on your skin first to make sure your skin tolerates it!

Traitez votre peau aux petits soins
It’s time for you and your guests to pamper your skin and enjoy total relaxation!
Here are some treatment products to apply at each of your beauty stations.
For your face
- Apply an exfoliant scrub or peel to your clean, makeup-free face by using small, circular movements to remove dead cells, boost your skin's radiance and make it more receptive to your treatment products. Then do the same to your entire body, using the appropriate products.
- Apply your favourite facial moisturizing mask—ideally, one that’s rich in soothing, thirst-quenching active ingredients. Leave it on for 15 minutes so your skin has time to absorb it deeply, then pat the excess moisturizer into your skin. For the ultimate facial experience, add eye patches to your mask!
- Cleanse the rest of your body with a shower gel that features nourishing, softening and toning properties.
- After your bath, dab a serum onto your face and neck before applying your daily moisturizer. Then apply a thirst-quenching cream to your entire body, paying particular attention to rougher areas like your elbows, knees and heels.
- End your routine by applying a thick layer of serum to your face and neck before you apply your usual moisturizer. Feel like you need a little more? Try ending the session with a few spritzes of thirst-quenching mist or thermal spring water.
Good to know!
Avoid drying your body completely before using your moisturizers. By applying them to damp skin, you can help retain maximum moisture and optimize the effects of your other skincare products.
For your eyes and lips
Delicate skin requires delicate care! Try pampering your eyes with decongestant patches that fight dark circles and puffiness by stimulating blood circulation while boosting your skin’s radiance. Then apply a nourishing lip mask to plump them up and fill in fine lines and cracks.
For your hands and feet
Nail file, a manicure block, cuticle sticks, base and top coats, gel polish, maybe even a UV lamp. Make sure you have everything you need to dazzle your nails with consistently vibrant, long-lasting colour. And be sure to let each layer dry 100% before moving on to the next. To finish, apply a moisturizing cream your hands and feet. You’ll be silky soft from fingertips to toes.
