There’s nothing like a festive manicure to brighten your Holiday events! And whether you prefer nails that are vibrant or subdued, we’ve got two Holiday manicures that will suit you right down to the fingertips.
The first style requires a UV LED nail curing lamp. But the second manicure can be done without one. Read on and learn all about both.
A brilliantly simple manicure...
The Holidays are made to sparkle. And this look is worthy of all your celebrations. Best of all, it’s easy to perfect.
Step 1
All great manicures begin with proper preparation. So, start by soaking your fingertips in warm water and then gently push back your cuticles. Next, file your nails to give them the shape you’re looking for. Then after cleaning and drying them, apply one or two thin coats of your favourite gel base. And finally, cure them under a UV LED lamp.
Step 2
For that truly festive look, apply some glitter gel polish over your base polish, but only on the top half of your nails. Then, before you place your nails under the UV lamp, just blend the area where the two shades meet using a small fan-shaped brush and you’ll get a cute, shimmering gradient effect. Once all the lines have been blurred using that technique, place your nails under the lamp again.
Step 3
For the finishing touch, apply a thin layer of protective, shiny gel varnish to your nails and cure them under the lamp to harden them properly.
Psst... Once your manicure is complete, remember to pamper your cuticles with some nourishing oil.
A colourful, festive manicure...
Want to add a splash of colour to your Holiday manicure? Go for it!
Step 1
Start by preparing your nails the way you did with the first look: just soften your cuticles, then push them back gently. Next, file your nails and wipe them clean. Finally, apply your base coat and let it dry for a few minutes.
Step 2
Apply two or three coats of vibrant red nail polish to all your nails. Make sure you leave them to dry for a few minutes between each coat.
Step 3
Choose a brilliant gold varnish and a fine-point brush and trace the tips of your nails just like you would for a French manicure. Next, apply a thin coat of your favourite protective glitter varnish, then leave your nails to dry and that’s it, you’re done!
