The 7 essentials
for the perfect
touch-up kit

This Holiday season, what should you put in your makeup touch-up kit? Here are some glamour, practical and versatile products that will help you achieve instant beauty results.

It’s the same story every year: once December rolls around, the frantic pace of the Holiday season begins. Oftentimes, we think the best way to stay prepared is to carry our makeup kit from party to party, even if it is overflowing with cosmetic products because we’re scared of not having the right one with us when we need a touch-up. That means we lug around a bunch of small jars that we never end up using.

To remedy this situation, we’ve found the seven products you should keep in your touch-up kit to meet any and all of your needs. Follow this guide!

Blotting papers

Blotting papers will help you dazzle without shining. They’re ideal for instantly absorbing excess sebum and will mattify your skin while leaving behind a trendy powder finish. Your complexion will appear refreshed and even, as if you’ve just gotten out of bed.

Lipstick

All you need is a single coat of lipstick in a vibrant shade to boost your complexion and highlight your lips – and smile. If you have a clear complexion, use cold colours such as cherry red, purplish blue or deep burgundy. If your complexion is golden or dark, use warm colours such as orange red, raspberry pink or earth brown. Psst! To make your lipstick last until sunrise, apply a bit of translucent loose powder right after you put your makeup on.

Liquid liner

The best way to highlight your seductive eye makeup is to enhance it with a line of liquid eyeliner. To create a trendy line you can: 1) fill out your lashes with a thin line using the tightlining technique, 2) create a cat eye that ends in a comma in the outer corner of the eye, à la Sophia Loren, 3) trace small lines or geometric shapes on the upper eyelid to emulate trends seen at fall-winter fashion shows by Kenzo, Oscar de la Renta and Altuzzara.

Blush

There’s no doubt about it: a fresh and bright complexion is this season’s hottest trend. The goal is to look like you’ve just finished jogging or returned from a day at the beach. To achieve these results, apply a touch of bright pink blush (cream if your skin is dry or powder if your skin is oily) on the upper part of your cheekbone and then use a bit of bronzing powder in the hollow of your cheeks and on the bridge of your nose. A healthy-looking complexion guaranteed!

Eyeshadow

Eyeshadow palettes (duos or quads) are ideal for women on the go. The proof? All you need to do is create some points of light (in the inner corner of the eye and middle of the upper eyelid) with a bright and shimmering shade and accentuate your darker zones (upper and lower lash lines, upper eyelid crease) with a dark and matte shade to transform your daytime look into one that’s ready to hit the town. As easy as pie!

Travel size perfume

To smell good all night, spray a bit of perfume on your pulse points (wrists, bottom of your neck). A tip: apply some perfume on your hair to leave a unique hint of fragrance wherever you go. A mini format for maximum results? We love it!

A miniature mirror

Thanks to this tool, you can instantly find out if your makeup requires a touch up, if your mascara is running, if you need to reapply your lipstick… or if you have something stuck in your teeth! Thank you, mini mirror!

A GREAT TIP

Is your mini purse too small for these seven must-have products? Don’t panic! Instead, use an all-in-one palette (complexion, eyes and lips) for a quick touch-up. It’s also the ideal item to keep in your gym bag or luggage!
